A Competition Scheme from Concept to Contract

An international design competition conducted by the University of Chicago led to the selection of Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects for the Logan Center for the Arts.  The Associate Provost for Planning selected Rotholz to convert the wining concept design into a comprehensive development plan seeking approval by the board of trustees. Over a 9-month period the concept design was refined and cost estimates created for the primary building program sectors. A master project schedule was developed along with a strategic plan for contracting. After winning approval by the board of trustees, Rotholz led the team in negotiating the design agreement.
